Cajun Fried Tofu

Having many vegetarian friends I had to come up fried food other than fried meat dish to satisfy them.  Creating this recipe was like finding gold.  


Now for your gluten-free friends the only change I would make in this recipe is I would use cornstarch or corn flour in place of white flour.

  • Gofu block in tub of water
  • cayenne, granulated garlic,black pepper, onion salt, thyme & marjoram

Cajun Fried Tofu Directions

  1. Remove tofu from liquid and slice into finger size pieces.
  2. Season with - cayenne, granulated garlic, black pepper, onion salt, thyme, marjoram, on top and bottom. 
  3. Add some extra flavor by replacing the cayenne with Chili Pepper Paste and canola oil to make a marinade.
  4. Let the tofu soak in the marinade for at least a few hours before cooking.
  5. Then roll in flour and fry in very hot oil (350º) until golden brown turn several times to cook evenly.
