Batter Fried Shrimp

You can't go wrong with anything battered and fried, and shrimp has to be the top of my list.

For 2 people ()


  • 2 dozen large fresh shrimp
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 package(s) old fashioned pancake mix (6 ounce)
  • salt and pepper
  • milk

Batter Fried Shrimp Directions

  1. Select large shrimp, peel and deveine and put into a pot of cold water and boil for one minute. Drain in colander  And rinse with cold water.
  2.  Season shrimp with salt and peppers.
  3. Beat the egg in a mixing bowl. Add the pancake mix and the baking powder and enough milk to make a pasty batter that will cling to the shrimp.
  4. Heat oil to hot. Dip shrimp in batter. Fry quickly until  brown and drain on paper toweling.
