Louisiana Pecan Waffles

These waffles are mouth watering. To serve the waffles, chop up extra pecans and mix in with your syrup and pour over the waffles.

  • 2 cup(s) sifted flour
  • 4 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 tablespoon(s) sugar
  • 0.5 cup(s) milk
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 4 tablespoon(s) melted butter
  • 1 cup(s) chopped pecans

Louisiana Pecan Waffles Directions

  1. Beat egg yolks into milk. 
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt; add dry ingredients to milk and eggs, mixing thoroughly to remove lumps. Add melted butter and blend well again. 
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold in pecans and add egg whites to batter.
  4. Heat waffle iron. Pour enough batter to bake proper-sized waffle.
  5. Bake until iron stops steaming and waffle is golden brown.
