Bread Pudding

To make this recipe even more delicious, substitute croissants for the toasted breadcrumbs.

I would also substitute a rum extract for the vanilla extract.

For 4 people ()


  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup(s) butter
  • 2 cup(s) sugar
  • 1 quart milk
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 4 cup(s) toasted bread crumbs, rolled fine

Bread Pudding Directions

  1. Toast your bread, roll it, then put the pieces left back in the oven, and repeat until you have 4 cups.
  2. Beat butter and sugar together well, add eggs, then breadcrumbs, then milk and other ingredients. Serve hot.  
  3. Serve above pudding with custard made of: 1 pint milk, 2 eggs, 1 Tbsp cornstarch, 1 cup sugar.  Serve hot with pudding.  Flavor with 2 Tbsp Brandy.
